The area I picked to hunt today is only a couple of blocks from where I work it is a field around 10 acres it used to have a old motel a old house three small studio apartments and a trailer court over the last few years everything was cleared out so the owner could sell it but it still hasn't sold. I have hunted this site many times and have always done pretty good find silver coins and wheat pennies so I was hoping for something good. i started out at the back of the lot under some power lines and the D was getting some EMI so I turned the sensitivity down to 1 and found a few coins not happy with just clad I moved down to an area that produced some nice Mercury dimes for me I dug some more clad then I got a penny hit at about 6" depth thinking it was a Lincoln or a wheat I dug away what came out of the ground was a 1890 Indian head I couldn't believe it on the next signal I looked at the DeLeon and noticed I had not turned up the sensitivity it was still set at 1 HOLY COW the D hit that Indian head at 6" on 1 how sweet is that? This Machine never seizes to amaze me it took me 9 yrs to find my first Indian head penny and it had been shot with a .22 this year I have found four. Anyway here's the goods will have to post pics later computer is acting up
12 pennies
3 dimes
2 quarters
1 1950 wheat
1 1890 Indian Head

You were successful and used a Tesoro that has visual Target ID !!! I thought I read many posts that said TID wasn't supposed to be useful!

Good hunt, and I'm just poking a little fun at some Tesoro non-display loyalists. :heh:

That Indian Head penny must have escaped the 40% of targets that you miss with a VDI detector!
