Got back late last nite from

Mike Chgo area

Well-known member
a visit with some friends in Ridgecrest, Calif. This guy ownes the patented claim where my late friend Bob used to spend the winters. On the way over there I passed the turn off to a place which is called the diggins. We used to dry wash for gold there. You can see the area from the highway and I was quite surprised to see what looked like 5 or 6 camp trailers there as you can only do that in hot weather when the ground is dry. The friend in Ridgecrest says that there are a few old timers that have been living there for 3 or 4 years. It is a GPAA claim and if you are a member you can stay on it.
Did have a great visit and we also took a drive out to the claim and spent a few hours out there. Looks a lot different since I last saw it. Bill has done a lot of work on it the last few years. Weather has been cool for this part of the country. Ridgecrest got down into the low 20's the last few days and it has been closed to freezing here in Banning. It was nice out today and no wind for a change. Maybe I can finally get out for a little while in the morning. Still a little shopping to do though. Hope all are well and staying warm.
God Bless.
