Does someone know if I can register my warranty on Garrett website and where the Serial # is located . Can't find the registration card that was in the shipping box -- think my wife might have thrown it out??

yes to register on website........look at the white tag where the coil connects underneath the control box, I think the " Serial #'s" on it.

Thanks Quarterhorse -- I registered it today and tried it out on an iron littered site where an old farmhouse was removed. I used the Pro Mode-Coins with iron audio on. Got a good baptism in sorting out a multitude of tones on nearly every coil sweep and managed to sort out 2 memorials,1 nickel, and 1 quarter. I can see that this detector has the serious capabilities that so many have written about on this forum! One thing I wondered about was the abrupt, sort of usual, clipped, high tones that were associated with grunts and the mid and high tones when in Pro-Coins mode with Iron Audio on -- so was wondering if this is typical to others experience? Thanks to everyone for the info on this site!

I'm still learning too, but that sounds like a decent target beneath a piece of metal like an aluminum can or something similar. You just have to dig it to find out and it might be worth the effort just to find out. Onus

The abrupt highs and mids should be investigated. Usually they are what I call quirky signals. The key is repeatable signals. If the detector hit a target once it will do it again. If you can't get a good tone through investigation move on.
