Got asked to leave today....

...for the first time. I was working the lawn around the middle school. I never worked it before but decided to give it a try yesterday after work. Went down for about an hour and found 21 coins - none more thatn 2-3 inches deep. Decided it was promising enough to try again this morning. Was there for about a hour again when a city police car pulled up beside me and - very politely- told me that someone from the school offices had called and said they didn't want me there. Since I had picked up about 50 coins already and a MIckey Mouse pin that says it was manufactured in Largo Fl on Mar 6 1943. I packed up and left peacably. My mistake is that the school admin offices are right across the street from the school, but who expects anyone to be in there on Saturday morning in July? I'll go talk to them sometime and see if they will give me permission.

Good luck. Hope after you explain what you are doing they will understand and grant permission.

It happens to everybody eventually. You might get permission if you go and ask. When it happened to me, and I went back asked, I was given permission. I was also asked to leave again after that. When you get an administrator, or caretaker, who feels like he owns a public site, I find it best to simply stay away or to only detect there early Sunday morning.

Don't let it bug you.
