Went Detectin Friday for Five Looong hours, didn't get much except for a Fossil watch, an earring (that didn't make it into the picture),
a dolphin mood ring, a Silver? ring, and misc other junk.

The ring has 85 incribed inside.... Any Ideas?

The watch face is pretty scratched up, any hints on taking out scratches???

If the watch face is glass then it's pretty easy to buff out with the right compound and a buffing wheel.

Check out this site for starters:

Polishing Glass

To remove scratches try rubbing the glass with toothpaste and a soft cloth,i did this on my patio door to remove scratches that the dog had made, with much improvement.Let us know if you succeeD.

If you cannot get the scratches out, then call Fossil. They will repair or replace the watch entirely for $25, even if you did not buy it. Just tell them the truth, you found it. My friend found one here in Galveston, that had a cracked bezel, sent it in with $25 and got a brand new one! Nice stuff OUTATIME, like the Proverbs 3:6 deal too! You go! GH

mineral glass. your best bet would be what Gulf Hunter suggested or have a watchmaker replaced the glass which would most likely cost in the 50 - 60.00 range. probably not worth it
