Went back to the spot I found last Saturday and got a couple more.
Wish I'd taken a pic of the 1902 quarter before picking it off the bottom of the plug. Very healthy 8" down The 1930's - 40's penny still has the .22 slug someone shot it with stuck to it.

I don't think this spot is going to turn out to be what I had hoped. Spent 8 hours today and only got three coins. The last one was a half at about 1 1/2" Reached over a large branch with the coil before stepping over myself and the darn thing just about stoved in my eardrums.
Sorry about the lousy action shot. Had the camera for 2 years now and still can't figure out how to get a decent closeup.

Its getting cold up here now. When I was finished my shovel had to be banged on a rock to get the mud off. Frozen solid :sad:
