wooHOOO I am loving this x-70, this is the second V-nickel I have found this year, 2 within a week!

I was hunting a house built in late 1800's and was digging everything above iron, no matter how bad the signal. I dug a TON of trash but who knows till you dig it right??

Normally a nickel will be a solid 12 on my X-70 but a got a good repeating "8" so I dug figuring it was trash, I cannot believe when this V-nickel rolled out of the hole! here it is before and after cleaning

I managed 3 wheats a rusty pocket knife, small pile of clad, and a lot of trash, I should have taken a picture....lol

Congrats on the V! That is a fantastic find! I would really like to find one myself. Good work, Beale.

this year I told myself two things

1. I will ask permission at all old houses that l see and can locate the owner fairly easy, I decided who cares if they say "no" I will just ask the next one...lol
2. when on old homesites I WILL DIG ALL decent signals above iron, and even some bad signals....lol

so far both of these are paying off for me

You had a fantastic hunt man!! Real good V and I like that pocket knife.
Good advice you told yourself...I'm still to cheeekin unless I know the person...lol May your next one be a shield.

chicken? why? I am very shy, but I know most of the good finds for me always come from old homesites, my want to dig oldies overcomes my shyness to ask

As you've proven, TID is just one of the tools we have with the X-Terra. Digging those consistent audio signals pays off much of the time, regardless of the TID.

Great job on a nice group of finds.

If this darn snow ever stops around here, I plan on doing some digging myself! HH Randy

Great finds. Did you use the potato for cleaning? I've only found 1 v nickel to date a 1900 and used your advice for cleaning came out really good. Knife looks like a "Old Timer"
