Thought i was going to get a good day at low tide today but the weather made them close the beach on me after only an hour. When i got there there was already an Xcal in the water so i waved and moved down the beach hitting the wet sand and water line. It wasnt long until the Xcal hit this ring. Its not marked so appears to be stainless. Do they make stainless ring?? It was down about 6 inches or so in the moving shell line. I also hit this whats it. Took a few scoops to dig it out. I think its aluminum but has a bit of copper color as well. Notice it has a large spring in it. Any ideas? Always tomorrow for the gold.

Ran it across my SE and digitally it reads a solid 12 01 which would be the same as a 12 gauge shot gun shell in the field. So its not aluminum and its to heavy. This is something that i would have passed up had i been using the SE. It something id considered to be foil. Had it read 12 02 i would have dug as a small gold ring maybe. This ring was down there pretty deep at the water line in the moving shells. Good think im digging about everything that beeps.

stainless rings. absolute trash. Even 300.00 class rings out of stainless steel. Kids are being taken. Anyway, without a picture I don't know what the whatsit is!! And I hope its not my computer!!

I'm sure you will master any type hunting you decide to do fine Sir.. Just look at all the Exp success you had.

As Homer would say ... Duuuuuh. Heres the pictures. Man.... now you make me hope its not one of those worthless SS rings. Think its a nickel plated 18 K gold one lol? Elton..... im hoping i do well because its a different situation here than up North. Im not putting down the SE it still has it place even on the beach its a darn deep machine. As long as gold is high ill be getting wet for sure. Ive got friends inland and can still get a little silver during the winter months when its a little cooler.

The watsit might be a piece of melted aluminum like a can that was spring loaded? LOL!! Probably had a spring in something that melted. GL on your next hunt!!!

Where it hit Dig certainly wouldnt have been anything i was digging with the Exp. At least im in the water doing my thing. We will see how long it takes me to get some better stuff. May need some road trips once i get a little more proficient. Dig.... i think i have the answer to getting an upper shaft .... im going to modify a Sov upper to the Xcal lower since i already have the box/pod hip mounted. We will see how that goes.
