GRAY GHOST

New member
hello again, all! searching in an old farm field a couple of weeks ago, i came across this absolutely gorgeous yankee cuff button that's all green and gold! it has a good stand up shank and the correct waterbury backmark. it's the nicest i've EVER found. the green and gold interplay is just amazing. olddigger [frank] had just found a nice coat sized yankee button, and i swear, not 10 seconds later i pulled this nice cuff button out the ground! so, it worked out very well for us. i went on to find 15 old flatbuttons and some other interesting relics over the course of two hunts, so stay tuned! thanks, and hh!

One of these days your going to have to take me Civil war relic hunting.

I've never been relic hunting before but I can imagine the excitement you must feel when the dirt gods release a relic like this .Congrats on a great find

Congrats on the fantastic find Gray Ghost! That one sure looks good! I can only imagine finding something like that, good hunt, Beale.

Also check those "old boring" flat buttons close sometimes a prize is in there!

hey RNR, i'd love to go back to that 159 acre farm, but i can't! frank [olddigger] and i were searching the freshly plowed fields and coming up with tons of old flatbuttons, eagle buttons, and some other cool relics on our second hunt there. all of a sudden, the fellow i know who is renting the property [ he'd already secured permission for us to hunt] came up and told us we had to stop detecting, and that one of the five sisters who owned the old homestead didn't want anybody detecting there! [not the one who gave us permission to hunt] - it's the first time in my nearly thirty years of detecting that this has happened. so, in respect for the landowners, we had to roll up our gear and head on down the road. i reckon there's a first time for everything. thanks, and hh!
