Got a piece of silver

We had great weather here over the weekend, it was a bit windy but the temperature was in the 70's. I hunted the local pounded fair grounds Saturday and Sunday for a total of about 8 hours using Andy's program, and the 6 inche EQ2 coil. I just love this coil, great seperation and depth, can't beat it in my opinion. Most of the parks and public places are pounded to death around here so the only hope is to either hunt private yards or wade into the trashiest places. Saturday I found a bunch of clad and 3 wheaties. Sunday I turned the gain up on the etrac, I usually run it at 22, raised it to 28, and ran in auto sensitivity with a -2 on the boost. Some may think I'm crazy, but I figure if you've got mostly a complete null on the threshold with the 6" coil it doesn't do a darn bit of good to run the sensitivity boost at max, With a -2, that brought the sensitivity down to 18 to 19 and I could still dig coins at over 6 inches deep. I found a area that was a blanket of nails and old rusty bottle caps, and out of that area I dug the 7 wheaties and the 53 dime. Thanks for looking and HH. Ken-ks

Ken,

I like the way you explain how and why you set your machine. This is very practical information and the results speak for themselves. Sounds like you might have to move to a different part of the country once you've gotten your spots hunted out.

Congratulations on the finds and thanks for the pictures.

Nice finds at a pounded out site. Sounds like that 6" coil is a winner. -- Randy

Good job Ken. Any day with silver puts a smile on my face.

And congrats for learning your machine well enough to know what settings work best for you under certain conditions. Thanks for sharing.
