I was in the market for a mid to high priced solid TID detector as the Garrett AT Pro is going by by soon to a new home. I have two other water detectors the Tesoro Sand Shark and the Fisher CZ-21 which perform better in salt water than the AT Pro anyway so the water proof part of the AT Pro is not really important to me

With that said,

I sold my MXT about three years ago and have missed it every sense. I did not use the relic mode or hunt for gold nuggets with it. I did a lot of coin shooting old house sights and old parks and the beach now and then. I field tested the M6 back about 5 or 6 years ago for about 6 months before giving it up or back to a dealer friend of mine (I really liked the M6). So I finally decided and pulled the trigger on a new M6 over another MXT purchase as the cost is less than the MXT and it has the functions I want for my intended use and it's based on good solid reliable MXT platform. I also picked up one of the SEF 8X6 DD coils for the M6 as well I had one of these coils on my MXT and it was one of my favorite coils to use besides the Whites 6x10DD coil.

I hope to do well with the M6. Whites makes a great detector I still have and love my Whites XL Pro small box analog detector. I also enjoyed the XLT model detector for many years.

I will always have a Whites MXT-Pro//M6 detector in my arsenal.If my mxt pro ever gets stolen or broke beyond repair- I would definitely consider the M6- the only thing I would miss would be the ground grab feature.
 
A few years back I was going to look for a used MXT but got an incredible deal on an M6 . It worked out great as I'm mainly a coin/jewelry hunter . I've used it a lot and have had some great hunts with it . I've never had a bit of trouble with it . Liked it so much I saw another great deal on one and now have a spare . One has the SEF 6x8 on it and the other a 5.3 Eclipse . Also have a 950 and 4X6 coil on standby .
Like the MXT the M6 is an amazing detector . Bill, that says a lot that you remembered how good it was and that you are now getting one . Looking forward to seeing your finds . :thumbup:

Thanks for the feedback. :beers: It must be really nice having two M6 units. I also like the SEF8x6 coil it is one of my favorites and I ordered one at the same time as I did the new M6 detector. I will get a 5.3 or a 4x6 shooter coil down the road. I told the wife I wanted one for a gift this coming Christmas.
