Hi All,

It isn't so new, but it is new to me. In a few days I will be the proud owner of a Toltec 100, I should enjoy it very much. Thanks and HH. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Man that is so cool, and I thought I was the only one on here that is into the ol' analog metered Tesoros. I bought mine last year.........I have owned the Toltec ll for 16 years, and finally found it's big brother the grand Toltec 100. It is a bit top heavy, but it don't bother me, and man, all them knobs! and a mode button and two switches. I'm in analog heaven with mine. It's a great performer too, but it stumbles a bit in the iron naily spots. Then it's younger brother is at an advantage in those places, what, with it's ED120 disc compared to the 90 degree disc of the 100. Ya done good! If ya have any questions about it, shoot me a PM. Good luck with your new detector.

Heavy as heck but they do make a hipmount for it which can lighten the load. Used almost every Tesoro ever made and in my estimation best metered unit ever made by Tesoro with accurate ID and notch and nice meter which for many is a bit too small...Although the Toltec 11 was lighter was a poor remake but having the meter on the rod was a plus...Years ago I talked to the powers to be relative making a lightweight version but sorry to say a Cortez or Deleon although good units just not my cup of tea. By the way found my oldest U.S. silver with one an 1839 seated dime that was 5 inches deep and standing straight up in the plug in an old churchyard pounded for years by many different detectors..Couple of tips...10 ten turn groundbalance is a bear to accurately use but with practice an accurate ground balance gives more depth and stability. Turning the threshold up higher in all metal equates to more depth as Disc. and all metal are intertwined but be careful too high and when you try to pinpoint will blow your ears off..Good luck with an oldie but goodie...Personally now own and use a Golden U-max as well learned its a light coin killer that just loves gold jewelry and at 72 the light unit is a plus...Lets face it Tesoro still has parts for it and does retune it if needed and by far Tesoro gives the best after the sale service on the planet..

I really like using the Toltec 100. In fact I own 2 of them. In my book this is the best analog metered unit ever made. The distance between the nickel and pulltab is phenomenal! The coins are grouped close together, but you can tell the difference when the meter needle locks onto it. If you are strong armed...the pole mount would be tolerable. The only fault I had with this is that it's top heavy and it would tip over easily on slightly uneven ground. There was a hipmount kit made for it. You get a metal plate with 2 screws(smaller than the 2 that are used to mount the box to the pole) and extension coil cord. The Toltec 100 meter and pinpoint button/mode change toggle are placed just right so you don't have to bend your head over to make adjustments while hipmounted.
I've found more nickels with this detector than I had previously. The tips that Dan gave are excellent. Another tip...dig targets that register as screw caps as that's where the tokens and indian head pennies are found. Experiment with dug indian head pennies to determine exact number/location on the meter. The Toltec 100's target ID is more accurate at depth as compared to the Toltec II. Let us know how you like it.

Hi Wolf

I have the mounting plate, harness and extention cord for the Toltec 100. I just have to find them as they are stored away, just shoot me a PM.
