Just want to say thanks to all for suggestions/input on a previous post. Followed the general advice and traded my XLT for an MXT. First day out in sunny MA at a new spot and found a ? white gold high school class ring (VDI - 10, foil?) + 42 coins in a few hours. Went out today and fund a small silver ring (fit s my 4 yo daughters thumb) that registered as a zinc penny and more clad. That's more jewelry than I found last season! I'm sure it had to do with the site but I enjoy the how the MXT works much more.
I had some experience MD'ing but reading all the great posts here has already helped me in trying out some of the fine points of the machine. (Like that headphones are a must and yes, a DX-1 is already on order).
