Got a little gold today

Goldak

New member
Went to the beach today and after hunting the wet sand decided to venture into the water. Really wasn't expecting much in the rough surf but I figured I could at least practice my technique. I was pretty shocked to find the 10K white gold ring within 10 minutes of entering the water but just as surprised that it was not buried. When I detected it I looked down and saw it tumbling around in the swirling sand under water. Very odd but I'm not complaining. HH!

Sweetttt!

Thanks guys! It shocks me that anyone wading in the surf could have spotted this ring even without a detector. I wonder if this sort of thing is uncommon? HH!

I'm not sure about other places, but the water here in Cayman is so clear that over the past 3 years, I have seen 3 gold rings and 1 gold earing in the wash, where the waves break at shoreline. I have had numerous tourist say the same thing to me, that they have found rings just washing in. I usually do a quick walk around, finish my coffee, and look to see what's just lying around before I get into the zone. I have found a pair of Oakleys (last week) and cash, found a silver necklace last year, after the beach cleaner came through...it was lying on top of the sand after the beach cleaner left. I have never seen one of these on the beaches in the states, but they are these tractors with a pull behind turner/till thingy that flips up all the trash (and jewelry im sure) into a trailer, then they just go dump it. Nice find....as long as they end up in my pocket, I'll take'em however I can find them.

Chris
