Been a good 3 days detecting. Saturday I dug ring #39 for this year, Today I did a 2 hour water hunt finding a silver dime. I then headed to an old favorite spot and got some old coins including a 1923 one cent key date. On my way home, I stopped at a park to top up my clad!

I lucked out with the 1923 key date penny. No scratches on it. I plan on getting it professionally graded later on this week.

Below is ring #39 for this year.

That 1923 penny is an awesome find. One of the most valuable pennies made after 1900. Judging from the front it seems in awesome condition. According to my book, it is graded by the condition of King George's crown detail. Also, in my 2015 edition book, the values are slightly higher than what you posted here. VG is 35.00, fine 45.00, VF 55.00 EF 80.00, AU 175.00

The other side of that penny is also in good shape. Luckily, there were no scratches on it from getting it out of the ground with my digger.

Especially in that condition. Around here, most copper coins of that vintage have the details faded away on at least one side.
