Got a couple of goodies with the Sovereign this evening...

My buddy and I went out for a short hunt this evening and dug a few coins and got a couple of goodies also.
My buddy found a nice silver ring with some designs on it.
I got a war nickel and a buffalo... haven't dug either one of these for a while.
I knew I had the war nickel as it came out of the ground like a silver coin, but was unaware of the buffalo nickel.
The ground was very wet from recent rain, so I was just recovering the coins and figure I'd look at them later.
I do believe I remember getting a couple of signals that were not in the nickel range.. one was lower thinking this was the buffalo and the other was higher which was most likely the war nickel.. I was a little
surprised to see a nickel come out of the ground.. thought it might be a ring.
That sovereign sure IDs nickels very accurately. I got 8 nickels and every nickel signal was a nickel.. never dug one piece of trash IDing as a nickel.
Thanks for looking.

Felix, nice finds and great observation about these two coins together giving a mixed reading. HH Ron

I may have misled you accidentally in my post.. I did not find these two coins together in one hole.
They were found in two different areas.. I faintly remember getting two signals that were not in the nickel range, but when I recovered the target, they turned out to be nickels which surprised me.
I figured out why the war nickel gave such a high reading for a nickel, but didn't realize the other nickel that I recovered was a buffalo when it gave a lower reading than a nickel.
I was somewhat surprised to find a nickel with the ID reading I got over the target.. the mystery was solved when I got home and cleaned the mud off the coins.

Sorry, thanks for the correction, thought you found them together, which I have had that happen a few times. Again nice finds. HH Ron
