Got a Cortes

Ever since I sold my first one I had been wanting to get another. Well the right deal came along at the right time and now I've got one.

Got it mainly for gold jewelry hunting parks and sports fields. You just can't beat the discrimination range on the Cortes for the low conductive targets or the ability to get a single id number for a low or middle conductive range target.

Now when I get the urge and mindset to hunt a little gold I'll have the right machine for the job

Happy :detecting:

Congrats on the new Cortes, Mike. Hope it works out well for ya.

Been researching the Vaquero for Relic hunting and I hear nothing but good reports. Wondering how a Vaquero performs also as a general coin/jewelry detector, and also on salt/sand beaches:confused:

I know the subject here is Cortes; sorry for diverting, Mike:look:

You know how I am about tone id (Tones Rule :super: ) and it is tough for me to hunt with a single tone. But I just haven't found anything to match the Cortes discrimination range so I'll just have to learn how to like it

It is also hard to hunt my ground with a fixed ground balance, but now with the T2 I can pretty well map my sites and tell where the preset will work well, where it will work ok, and where I should hang it up and forget about it  I expect it to work out well.

Hope you enjoy your Vaquero. It will probably do ok. You are used to a tone and visual id machine, so it will be a little different for you but you'll get the hang of it.

Got Bar Graphs? :hot:
