I recorded the sounds of the Etrac on a nickel, zinc penny, indian head penny, silver dime and silver quarter. This should speed up your learning curve....;o)

It would not allow me to post it here........But the link is below. It is 6mb and in the mp3 format. It goes through each target for a minute and a half or so. I tried to sweep the coins at various distances and speeds.

It is nothing professional just the recording of the sounds the Etrac makes on certain targets.....Someone new to the Etrac may actually find it helpful. Anyone else feel free to download it too........;o)

Bill , My zinc penny and my Indian sound the same also silver dime and quarter not like yours with a different tone between the coins. Variability 29 Pitch 15 . I tries 2 different Indians and 2 different quarters no tone change,no tone change between the zinc and Indian nor between dime and quarters.any suggestions??Jeff63

Yes I do.Would channel 4 make any differance or any other settings like sensitivity? I can hear the note change in yours but mine stays the same on those coins. My nickel, zinc and dime are the same as yoursbut the Indian and quarter doesn't change Could it be because I'm using my X-1 Probe and not the coil mto test them with???

The channel should not make any difference. Could be the x-1. I have an x1 on mine too but I tested with the 10x12 sef. Depends on how corroded the indian head penny may be too. I just checked my settings again. My variablitly and limits were on 28.

Thanks Bill, I'll play around with it tomorrow, I'd like to get a different tone on the Indians compared to the other pennies. I still think what you did with the tones wil be a big help for the new guys. I follow all your post all the time. Merry Christmas and HH

Merry Christmas Bill!!!!!!! Thanks for that vid. Man, I should log on more often. I just found this post!!!!!!!! I apologize for that!!! Yes, that will prove VERY helpful!!! I now know what a wheat penney sounds like as I found two of them yesterday at the old fairgrounds. There is plenty of land there to sweep. Cannot wait to see the possibilities and the probabilities!!!! Again.....Merry Christmas to you Bill S!!!!!!!! And thanks a million!!!!

I did not know if it would help you much or not but I thought I would post it. I knew once you got a few hours on the Etrac you would pick it right up......;o) Looking forward to all the post you make with all those old coins you are going to be finding now.....;o) Merry Christmas to you too.....
