Got a call today from Ed SwFl to help someone out......

A guy called today to ask for help in finding a ring. Ed called me and gave me the details. I called the guy and made plans to meet him at his house on Fort Myers Beach. My friend came along for the ride and we headed to the beach. This is our ride to get to where we needed to be to find the ring.

We took a 50 minute ride in this awesome boat to the location, which can only be gotten to by boat.

After about an 1 1/2 hours of searching I was totally surprised that I had actualy found this Beatiful $10,000 Gold Diamond Ring.

Besides the ring the only other thing I found was a bottle cap. Which after I found the ring I walked up to the owner of the ring and said "I have some bad news and I have some good news.", "Bad news is I think it is time to leave, we will not be able to find the ring.", "Good news is pick a hand." I had the bottle cap in my right hand and the ring in my left hand. He picked the right hand. You should have seen his face when the bottle cap fell into his hand (just plain disguse on his face). Then I said " You picked the wrong hand" as I opened my hand to show him the ring. After the excitment in his face he said "I don't know if I should kiss you or hug you." My reply was "I will settle for the hug, Thanks."

Everyone was flipping when we got back on the boat. What a Great Day.

I got a great boat ride to find a lost ring, and he also donated $500.00 to the CCPD Do The Right Thing Program, and also gave me a HANDSOME REWARD.

I hope everyone else had a great one also. This is the most awsome find I have made.

HH everyone, John SwFl

Many perople on these forums have gone out of their way to help someone recover an item, or to find the owner of military rings, high shcool/college rings and other sentimental or valuable items they have found.

Doesn't it feel great to do something nice for someone and to see their joy when the owner is reunited with the property -- even if there is no mention of a reward. It is such a rewarding experience and shows the integrity of the detectorist. You done good!
