Got a Bargoon

Wasn't really looking to upgrade from my Oly E-PL1 as I have two with lenses...just so happened I was checking out ebay and spotted a E-PL3 with 2 Legacy lenses and an lens adapter.
Thought for sure it was going to go for some money, due to the vague description, it was passed on by many with only a few bids. Well, I sniped it at the last 3 seconds and it was mine.
I can resell the two lenses and adapter for what I paid for everything, then go out and get myself a real good flash.

It arrived today, pristine only 2030 shutter count. Works perfect.

My cameras serve a good purpose, so I don't sell them off too fast maybe every couple years or so if I find a reason to upgrade.
I currently own two Pen e-pl1's, with both kit lens and a 60mm Zukio Macro lens. That particular lens is worth more than the two camera bodies and kit lens combined.
But, it is my purpose lens, for capturing the best detail and picture of small items that I sell on the net.

At the time when the E-pl3 came out, they were too expensive, so I bought the e-pl1's. They are micro 4/3 cameras and able to use prime lenses made for it or the larger lenses for the 4/3 with an adapter.
Plus the ability to use older 35mm SLR film camera lenses with an adapter, great lenses and cheap. Best of all takes great pictures.

So recently decided to look at the Pen line again, prices have come down. Noticed the prices on the e-pl3 thru 6 versions for just the bodies where not that far apart if bought used. Now, really didn't need to upgrade,
but, spotted this e-pl3 and took a gamble. Just wanted the body, as my current lenses work with it. Got luck ended up with it, plus side the low shutter count.

My concern with it was no flash...then after thinking about it, I rarely need to use the flash on the e-pl1.

I have been playing with all the settings for the past week, taking pictures, then seeing what they look like on the computer vs. the camera LED screen.
Took a bit to get used to the new menu layout but, I like it. I like the adjustable position of the rear LED screen as well.. Yesterday updated the camera software with the new version firmware.
The e-pl3 is a bit smaller than my e-pl1, makes it a bit different to hold firmly with the shutter hand. I did order a stick on hand grip for it as well as another thumb grip.

My viewfinder from my e-pl1 also fits on the e-pl3. So this camera is a perfect upgrade for me.

Now I am actually thinking about selling one of my e-pl1 bodies, maybe both and getting another e-pl3. They are kind of like detectors, can't just have one.:heh:
I don't have the same need to keep buying and trying cameras out, they don't find things underground like a metal detector. I don't get bored with cameras....

Mega, I settled on two "VLF" detectors for my land hunting as you know, one beep and dig and one target ID machine. They seem to be what I have been looking for and get the job done for land hunting.
Then my PI will cover everything else that they can do and more. Recently picked up another bargoon, White's Beachhunter ID, that will be my "VLF" water machine along with my water PI machine.
So, I am good to go now for my personal arsenal. Won't refuse a good buy if one comes along..............

Still playing indoors with the camera, sample picture below. Old watch about the size of a half dollar. Taken with the 60mm macro lens.
