Gooey

I recently purchased the V3 and I love it, great machine. However I can see room for improvement.
1. Why not make the user interface gooey. Get rid of the push buttons, make the screen a little larger and install a joystick across from the trigger switch. Use the trigger for a left right click as on a mouse.
2. Why doesn't this unit have a usb interface? Upgrades would be a snap and we all could share setting programs with ease.
3. GPS unit built in to the system. Most cell phones have this tech, as it has become fairly low cost. I'd love to mark my find locations using my thumb on the before mentioned joy stick.
So I can imagine a few objections for these upgrades.
A. Cost. Ok I spent 1500.00 on this machine I would be willing to spend a few hundred more, I assume most people would.
B. Power. The more juice you allocate to the interface leaves you with that much less for detecting. How about 2 battery packs? They don't seem to weigh that much.
C. Made in America. I think all of these improvements can still be done in Oregon.
So what do you all think do we need a V3i-2.

Sounds way to fiddley, like those little joysticks in early laptops in the middle of the keyboards, nightmare to use.

Yes agree wth this 100%

The accuracy of GPS units in phones are not very accurate, tests have been done on this. Wouldn't be reliable enough to refind a exact find spot or for recording for archeology purposes. Map coordinates are much more accurate. Anyway most people carry there phones so just use that if you need it

Just my thoughts,
