Goodies at the lake being drained for the winter.

I went back to the lake that's being lowered with my HH Wader. Even though the temp was nearing 60 degrees the wind made it feel like 40. I found three quarters, one of which was a 1966. Also found a 1974 nickel, a dime, a 2002 penny and 1/2 of a tricycle bell. I also found what looks like a childs button from a pair of jeans. I can't make out all the writing. It says "from the wimes". I'm not sure of the last word. It's too tough to make out.

What surprised me were 2 wheat pennies - 1947 and a 1956.

The best find of the day was a nice 10k gold ring. Not bad for a couple of hours in the fresh air. I've got to take them while I can. I don't see many more warm days in the near future until Spring here in New England. The cold is as tough on the detector as it is on the detectorist, both work better when they are warm.

Here are the goodies.

Grats - I don't have enough time to get out during the week anymore, so it's good you got the chance while the weather is still at least semi-cooperating. I heard it's supposed to get down into the 20's and 30's this weekend and into early next week.

Winter's just around the dang corner :(

Just a couple of months ago, September, and only about 10-15 feet away I found a silver ring at the same place. Both silver and gold were a first for me.
