I usualy omit the junk from my hunts ,but thought today I would post
so the newbies can see , gotta dig the junk if you want to find the good stuff .
Another IH , 1887, Love those Indians , A very curious item that is about the size
of a penny , gilded at one time , on back reads pat. no ? 1875 , not sure if front is
agate or something under glass  And all the other targets I dug during my
3 hr hunt at an old farm . Thanks for looking , HH

hi echostar, that sure is a nice indian! i wish mine looked like that. you, like coinnut, must have mild ground. it seems the ground around here is so hard on copper and bronze cents sometimes. i like the banded agate piece [?!] if that's what it is. is it a piece of jewelry? or maybe a fancy tie tac? it looks like you had a good day too! see, i toldya... hh,

Yeah, pennies don't fair too well around here either - in my yard we have really black dirt, mixed with alot of what appears to be coal. Beneath that is brownish-gray clay.

Terri you got a wheatie in there too. I love those little guys. So far no IH. Who knows about Pleasant Surprises though? You should try your new headhunter. I am looking at the Wader and getting rid of my XLT. I would like to try a light beach detector like the Wader and when it starts raining I don't have to run for cover. Let us know when you go out using the new Pirate. I think it will be different detecting with it? Looking forward to your posts with it..Z

Hey Z , I see it now , got my first pair of bi focals yesterday, cant see squat
Its a real wonder I found anything at all , LOL. It took me 30 years to find my first IH ,
this is the second this year . I wont get the pirate in for another week , cant wait to give
it a try. I'll let ya know how it works

Hi Ghost , my first IH came from the exact same spot and it was in sorry shape,
dug this one among tree roots, maybe thats the difference. Not sure what the thing
is,the back is hinged but frozen in place, and I hate to pick at it too much. I was
hoping you guys might know. Glad I got out when I did, Huge storms rolling thru
now, Geeze more rain  Thanks Ghost

Nice Indian. Looks in pretty good shape. Not too much junk though. A very good ratio of keepers to junk. Nice to see you had time to get out. Relaxes the brain!:smoke:
