heres a pic of saturdays finds, i found the 3 gold nuggets on the left and my dad found the other one, we used the gp3000 gold machines for these but found the coins and ring with the xterras, in the picture is a 1877 english half penny my dad found at an old school, we both found three cents each lol, and i found the ring in a freinds backyard. The total gold weight was 2 grams for the 4 nuggets. ring is a .925 silver ring.

Great post! Any reason why you used the GP 3000's for the gold rather than your elliptical DD on your X-70? (Deep and small targets perhaps?) - I only ask because you seemed to have the right coil on the X-70 for this sort of target, even though you obviously had the 3000's handy.

Haven't seen 1c & 2c pieces in a while! I think you might be right about the coins that looked like they were clipped with a lawnmower blade. I was scratching my head for a moment before I read your post in detail. Which state were you in, Victoria?

Good to see the boys getting some yellow, nice little nuggets btw. I'm looking forward to hitting some gold fields this weekend coming up with the round 10.5" DD 18.75KHz coil, last time I was there I didnt get a chance to try out a really trashy area I had found so I'm going to have some fun this time I think. I will definitely be bringing the 6" DD as well. Anyways have a great new year! Thanks for the post!
Cheers!

hi there, i like to use the 3000's for gold as they do go a lot deeper, especially when u run with a mono coil, i like the 10x5 dd for coinhunting as i believe this coil does give a more solid number on signals but the concentric does go that bit deeper, i am in victoria in the golden triangle thanks Nick :)

Have you ever tried around long gully in Kingower. Back in the eightys i was prospecting in that area an a guy had a lease on that gully and they tore it up but after it all had been replaced back to normal a mate and i spent some time their and could not beleive what these guys had missed. That would be 20 years ago and with the advancement in beepers i would definetly give it a go.

Good one Fantom. I hear that to get that Terra out of your hands these days you need a crowbar, pully and a block and tackle.
Ps. the guy standing next to you told me that.

thats true bt lol, u can stand out in the bush all day looking for gold and not even find a bullet these days due to the bush being that flogged by detectorists, but u always seem to find a coin or two or 20 pulltabs that keeps the game interesting :) as u can see i bought the old man one too and hes loving it, if u ever wanna hook up some time give us a yell :) kingower has been a very popular place for gold over the years, my dad has found a heap of gold out that way, will have to look it up pinpointer thanks :)
