The Explorer is not for everyone, some like quanity more than quality and any detector will do that. Most of us that use the Minelab are looking for the deeper and older coins the others miss and the Minelabs have proven it over and over again as you see on these and other fourms.
The secret is learning the detector and what it is telling you.Just because you see everyone posting these great finds dont mean you can take it out of the box and do the same without learning it, but you will see this with the DFX too. You will get many new coins plus maybe a couple of older ones.To get the older and deeper coins you will have a bigger learning curve than the Explorer, but you will find that out as you go.
The main idea is to have fun detecting and enjoy it, if not than the detector will just set in the closet collecting dust like my XLT did untill I seen what a Minelab Sovereign could do. Now I have coins I didn think was possible in the same area. Now the Explorer has proved to me that it can even do better than the Sovereign could which I didnt think was possible, but it wasnt take out of the box and find these either as I had to learn it first.
If I want the newer coins and lot of them than any detector can do that, but if I want the older and deeper coins the others have missed than a Minelab is what I am going to use as it is a proven winner.
Good luck lilfox45 and hope you enjoy the DFX.
