Good sand scoop tip $10

Dancer

Well-known member
I was in a farm feed & tool store and spotted a feed scoop. 10 bucks, took it home drilled holes, and whamo a metal sand scoop !!

It worked in fine sand, but was too flimsy for heavy digging, I had it all bent up in a couple of weeks, but it worked better than nothing...I bet those heavy aluminum scoops you used to find in icemakers would be pretty good, for the prices of some of the off the shelf models, it doesnt hurt to innovate a little.

I have found that you should never go cheap on sand scoops. They are really important when you hunt and making something into a scoop that was not meant for sand scooping can be fatal to a good day at the beach.

But that being said.........I hope yours works out for you.
