Good reading (target) but not reading any metal

Hey all, while I am on my staycation vacation I have been scouting new beaches for when the beach tourist season really kicks in in the beginning of November or so. So I went to a new beach with a very different type of sand than what I am used to. It was much finer and packed a bit more than the beaches I usually work. Now the question. I had several "hits" they certainly sounded like good targets but they didn't read as any type of metal/target on my lcd display. I figured it was just a strange ghost reading or something and didn't bother to dig them, yeah I probably missed something good, but I figured if it was something good it would have registered on the meter as a target. Oh yeah and they sand was damp, but not wet like in the surf area that the GTAX really isn't designed for. But anyway it was a decent beach worth checking out when the tourist start arriving.
