I am a Bounty Hunter dealer and use the Tracker IV for most of my hunting
and here is why;
It eliminates 90% OF all iron and foil targets.
If you get a erratic target you can forget it, it is trash, the only target
you want to dig is a steady target signal in all directions.
You want to dig all steady targets in any tone range because gold is a low tone and silver is a high tone. Dig all high tones!!
You will get tired of digging pull tabs until you dig your first gold ring. Gold rings are pull tabs.
If you buy a machine with a target ID it will be a tendancy to not dig pull tabs and that is a mistake.
Also you can trick the Tracker IV to 3 tone ID by setting the sensitivity at 90%. Set the 3 way switch to tone and discrimination to full clockways, this way zinc pennies will give you a mixed hi/low tone, but remember if you are at a remote location zinc pennies are the same as Indian heads.
By the way I won 1st place ($750.00 treasure chest)in the FMDAC in Laughlin NV in 1999 and 1st and 3rd place (100 oz silver bar and a $10.00 gold coin) in 2001 at the AMDAC in Laughlin I was the only one to get 2 of the 40 tokens ot of 400 hunters with the (cheapo he he) Tracker IV also I was over 60 years old at the time. BOUNTY HUNTER RULES....

I couldn't agree more! In high tab areas you can also set the tone to just where tabs give a low tone and just listen for the high tones. Any advantage? Well, high tone coins can still be cherry-picked under 10-12 pulltabs! Try it! To set it PERFECTLY for the normal notch setting: turn the tone control completely CC and with a NICKEL and no jewelry on, rotate the dial to where the nickel just turns to only low tone-i.e, you will get a high tone at first, then mixed, then finally low. Now, the tabs will mix the tones correctly. And just FYI, tabs that are close to the nickels will have more of the low tone in the mix and tabs that are closer to zincs will have more high tone in the mix. It's almost like having a graph ID. Also, coins set this way will be cherry picked when a mixed coin spill occurs. Whenever say, 3-4 nickels are close to a dime or penny, most notch detectors ID as TABS. The Tracker will give the high tone for the dime FIRST, then after it is recovered, the low tone nickels will be heard. So make sure you recheck all holes with this machine=which I call "Chicken Little" because of the clucking sound it makes over tabs. And I have fun with it! Just great information and you really got me stirred up!. Thanks.

You sure made me feel better, cause I own a 4. People kid of me cause I got a toy when they got machines that cost hundreds more.
