Good news! Fisher called me today...

... exactly two weeks after they got my machine. The CZ needed a new coil, new front panel, gaskets, battery pack and one or two other things. Sounds like they practically re-built it. Well, it's on it's way back and it's all free. Gotta love a lifetime warranty.

So, while this thing has been in the shop 2x within a year, I'm very happy with Fisher's service. Both times have been very quick and professional.

I'm going to have to get another machine though. One back-up is just not enough

was (I think) just offered when I bought the machine in June of last year. I don't think they had it before then. That was the big deciding factor behind the choice for my first "real" MD. I looked at both the Excal and the CZ and decided on the CZ.

There are differences between the Excal and the CZ and the edge would probably go to the Excal. However, other than not getting the larger coil, I'm really not unhappy with my choice. Yeah, I'll probably get an Excal one day; but not in the near future I'm sure (not if I wish to remain married)
