Good news and not so good news....

...Brian is through with therapy and can now walk short distances with a cane. He will still need his wheelchair for longer distances until, or if, he gets to the point where he feels comfortable walking again. He has a long way to go but we are making progress and my hope is he'll be ready to go digging by spring.

More good news. He was fitted for a brand new wheel chair and it is ready to pick up on Tuesday. Unfortunately, we won't be here to get it. More on that later.

Even more good news. Back in December I sold a couple quite a bit of furniture and during the looking stage the wife casually asked me if we ever went to Dollywood. I told her we loved to go but didn't get to very often. When I gave her the total price she offered to get all for of us a free pass to Dollywood if I could get her a better price and I told her that I would be glad to check and see what I could do for them but she didn't have to give me tickets. It turns out that she was in charge of public relations for Dollywood!! I went to my manager and told him of the offer and he laughed and said he had had better offers but he did give me a little better price. I told them the price and apologized because the discount wasn't near enough to cover the cost of 4 tickets. She asked where I wanted them sent and I asked to just send them to the store. As time has passed I figured she had forgotten because I'm sure she is very busy and to be honest I really didn't expect them. When I got home today there was a package from Dollywood in the mail and inside was 4 tickets! But, it appears that they are season passes for all 4 of us!!! I couldn't believe it.

Now the not so good news. Vanderbilt had a cancelation and they have moved Brian's surgery up from Feb 25th to this coming Monday. It should be on an outpatient basis but they reserved a room for us through Wedn. if we need it. This surgery is comparitively minor, they're shaving down the tumor on his right lower jaw. In a way, it's good news because he will have another surgery on the tumors on his cheekbones later this spring so they won't be as close together allowing him time to heal. And that's why we won't be able to get his new wheelchair Tuesday.

Well, that's about all I can type this evening. I need that software where it types what you speak!!!

Thanks for your prayers,

That is awesome! Did Brian get my page today? I keep asking the Lord to bless you guys and He keeps answering! :) Praise the Lord!
