Good news and bad news - A crybaby moment...

I got a new work schedule, which bugs me - at least as a detectorist. I was working graveyards, which I disliked but at least it afforded me the chance to detect everyday.

NOW, I am working M-Th, 7am-7pm. Its dark when I come in and dark when I leave! No detecting.

The good news? It leaves Fri-Sun to detect and Im home in the evenings and I get to sleep with my wife :)crazy:)

Who else would you sleep with?

Yeah. I had one of those last week. Had hoped to move into a city area, and despite looking closely on the net and putting feelers out to sus out possible locations. It wasn't till I got on the ground there, that I realised the real estate we could afford, you wouldn't want to live in.All those detecting possibilities.....GONE.
I guess that's life.

Sounds like a win win situation. I hate shift work of any kind. When I worked on the river it was six on and six off round the clock. Only good thing about that job - you got a half a day off for every day you worked, so if you stayed on the boat for 30 days you got 15 days off with pay. Sixty days on got you 30 days off.

When I was working 3d shift - I slept with myself. This way is better, in that regard.

...I hope you find something soon. Men should not be without work for long. My prayers are with you.

Hi David.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.I'm actually on long service leave. I currently work in an abattoir.Been there for 15yrs now and just want/need to change, compliments of a neck injury last year. While that opportunity was not open to me,I suspect that either something else will open up, or I'll see if I can create an opportunity.
I hope that you enjoy the extra family time that you now have.
All the best.
Mick Evans.
P.S. Once I have got the all clear from hooking up to a different site, which will allow me to downsize photo's, then I'll post my finds with a bit of a write up.
