i found this on a ring of skeleton keys that were given to me from a relatives estate,i don't think that it's too old,more curious than anything. it's made from aluminum,and the size of a quarter,it says W.&M. on one side,and on the other GOOD FOR 5 IN MERCHANDISE. any ideas? thanks
 
Trade token for 5 cents. W. and M. was probably the initials of the merchant who used these. Good for tokens have been around a long time.
 
Mavericks are tokens that just don't have enough info to track them down to a certain merchant. Nice find!
