I was fortunate to stumble upon a piece of property where I took my good ole detecting buddy Monte today. Actually I didn't take him, we met there bright and early in the morning. Right off the bat I knew it was going to be good. By the time I went home for a lunch break and to pick up my wife, Aundrea, I had tallied 2 Indian Heads and 5 wheaties. Also came across a neat Shell gas token I had though initially to be silver. Unfortunately that wasn't the case...
After an extended break at home I took Aundrea back out where we met Monte once again. This time we only had about 2.5 hours of daylight left so we got right to work. Not as good this time as the first, but I still got a wheatie and a Barber. Aundrea was able to pull up a wheatie as well.
Days like this are very, very few and far between for me. I'm happy to know there's still good junk in the ground.
I was going back and forth between the Explorer and IDX. I started out with the Explorer and got one Indian Head and a few wheaties right off the bat. Eventually I came to a part of the yard where I couldn't detect with the Minelab due to there being so much interference I couldn't handle it. So I switched to the IDX and used that for a while. I think I got some clad but just finding that older stuff I was getting a little frustrated that the IDX wasn't picking any of that up so I switched back the the EX2 and found more stuff. I did this a few times and every time I came back to the Explorer I found stuff whereas I wan't finding anything of any significance with the IDX. So virtually all the good old stuff yesterday was found with the Minelab which is a rare occurrence.
