Good Finds At Some Old Schools And City Parks

Finds are from a few short hunts last week and this week at some area old schools/city parks and one Saturday 3/4 day hunt at an old school and couple city parks.

The Northern pacific luggage tag "Yellowstone Park Line", 1883 Indian Penny and 1909 plain Barber quarter and a few wheat pennies were found yesterday just a few minutes from home and really surprised me that they were still there hiding in between the junk. The 1909 quarter and the Indian were a strong 9 inches deep.
The luggage tag was about a foot deep. I found a non dug luggage tag example like the one I dug sell at auction for $265.

The old brass Chevrolet emblem was also about a foot deep and has a 1917 patent date on the back and has to be pretty collectible also.
The Award Of Merit badge appears to be early 1900s from what I can find online and read 12-40 like an old wheat penny.
Both silver rings are stamped .925.
33 wheat pennies are back to 1910. Nickels are 1946,1946,1948. Barber dime is 1902 plain. SLQ is 1925 plain mint mark.
All finds were made with the stock coil.

Now that's a good week of hunting. Congrats on the array of great finds.

That's a good week or so worth of finds. That luggage is one great find and I see your doing pretty good at finding those SLQ's this year.

It's got to be getting a lil chilly up your way. I'm not looking forward to the cold weather yet..

Thanks for the comments guys!
Weather has been pretty mild up here yet Mark. Its been hitting the 60s.
Yes, the Etrac is a great and durable machine and I liked it the very first time I used it.
I got this machine new in 2008 and I'm sure it has thousands of hours on it.
I have had it in temperatures from 4 degrees to 100 degrees.
I very rarely use a screen cover because of the bad display and have used it all day during the rain also.
It started acting up on me earlier this year where it wouldn't turn on and I slapped the box a few times and its been fine since then.
I will keep using this one until it quits working.

If Minelab would make a new identical machine and update the display/processor speed and take about 1 1/2 pounds off the weight I would easily pay double the new price.

Very, very cool! The N.P. Baggage Tag is especially cool, they are indeed worth $$ to collectors. Many congratulations!

Nice work on all the old keepers! I love hunting around old schools. We just don't have the old parks any where around here to hunt so old schools are the best for lots of traffic and kids are great about losing coins. The old badges are great! Keep it up!

wow F.P.D.

Great great finds I love that luggage tag.
