Good evening ladies and gents......................????????

Thats right! Brought home my new baby last night. Her name is Excal 1000 aka: The Gold Sniffer. She is brand spanking new and is already asking me for a date on the open seas. She spoke for the first time last night and said, "daddy, whens we going hunting?" I about fell down and broke into tears. So I said, "Sunday morning, wee is trying a new beach, somewhere where the path has been slightly untouched."

She responded by telling me she is a little impatient. I returned an answer to her by saying "good things come to those who wait as well as patience is a virtue."

Good luck all!

Gary

- Disc all the way to minimum

- Sensitivity at 11 O'clock position

- Volume at about 3/4's

- Threshold at a slight gentle buzz like a bee

- ID mode

Dig all targets and get used to the sounds. Do not run any disc at the beach as gold and aluminum are one and the same as far as their conductivity. Disc the trash and you disc the gold. As you get proficient with it you will know when not to dig bottlecaps and some other trash items and should be able to tell pennies from dimes and quarters, etc.

Also, I personally don't use the pinpoint mode...I pinpoint in Disc mode and so do most of the folks with Excals that I know. You may want to do some practicing with targets on the surface prior to "going live" to see if you can get your pinpointing down pat. You may avoid digging some 3 foot deep holes if you practice first.

Mike,
Thanks for the great info. I will keep you posted on the finds and I will get out there to learn the unit as much as I can.

Thanks,

Gary

I get pleasure just dreaming and looking at her. She sure is very shiney. Cant wait to get her in the water and then get a grip on her.

Plug her in overnight and don't unplug her until you are ready to load her in the truck. When plugging her in, hook the charger up 1st and then plug her into the wall socket. Unplug her from the wall 1st and then screw the charge cap back on. She ought be good and hot. You might try going to the same haunts as the Mark II and see if it missed anything. Like I said before, you will find more gold and silver, because you will cover WAY more water than before. Waiting for results..........show us the loot newto

iiii iiii Captain. Will hunt tomorrow morn at a new beach that people tell me is worth trying. Let you in on the scoop manyna.
