Good deed & a token spill

This past wknd I went to a bbq in Central NJ. It's an annual event, but it's the first time I brought my detector, as the hosts have an expansive yard I had always wanted to search. The owner told me ahead of time that she had lost a very special pendant given to her by her grandchildren. She was standing in section of the yard earlier this year and suddenly discovered that the pendant was missing from the chain. Well, arriving early to ensure I got some detecting time in, I set out in the general area she had showed me. I knew I was looking for a VDI in the 40s or 50s that was loud enough to signify being on or close to the surface. No more than 15 mins. in, after unearthing some clad and other unmentionables, I got a hit in the upper 40s. I looked down and saw something embedded in the dirt and glistening thru the grass. Sure enough, I pulled out the pendant. Showing it to the owner, she embraced me with tears in her eyes. Truly a great moment and a testament to this great hobby. I proceeded to hunt for a while after that. Ended up with 19 Sunoco old fashioned car tokens (17 found in the same small area), much clad, a watch face, an old lipstick case, what appears to be a silver cigarette holder with some design, and a big faux gem that turns out to be encased in a sterling silver holder. Some finds are pictured below. Not exciting finds per se, but a great amount of satisfaction in doing something good for someone else. HH.

Congrats on the job and good deed.

The gratitude she showed would have been worth it even if you found nothing else. Tears of joy are priceless!! Awesome job my friend!!
