Gotta love that Sovereign / WOT combo. Notice that with the larger coils, the difference between all metal and disc is much, much more. Everything you need to know is in the wave shape in all metal. Using a sifter makes a big difference too. Was walking away from the middle band (14K) when there it was on the sifter. One on left is gold filled, and bracelet is quite old (figure depicts a small dog) and 10K. My sifter is made from a small bread rack, pool noodles tied on and the screen they use in resteraunts to put glasses on trays as screen. No metal. Had the place to myself, they're waiting for this year's stuff, I'm still working on the fourties and fifties. Who needs them...medeling...interfering...

Nice finds:)Keep a low profile on your spot. Maybe it will be all yours...lol
I had a ten inch coil put on my Excalibur. I used a eight inch for many years. I just had them take my ten inch coil off and put my eight inch back on. I was having problems pinpointing under the water with the Larger coil.
I know in the water you scoop up sand and the hole almost refills itself.

Waterdog--good handle!
What you say is true, it's tough as hell using the big coils in the water, but the rewards are great. I use a Cuda with a 10" coil so that helped me to practice for the WOT. The Toronado is kinda hard to swing too, an Aussie stem (doc's site) is a real help with the big coils. If you decide to try again with a WOT or Tornodao, be sure to make your first pinpoint right on the dot. Do the complete X'ing proceedure. Put your next digs right down the same spot, heel of the scoop to the back of the hole.If you widen only do so on the side that you have establised your mistake by pinpoinint again. Know your coil's capabilities, (air test plus 1/4?) so that you will know when you have dug to depth and now must work on scraping the sides. It's only this year that I got used to digging blind, when a ta5rget falls deep or is upended. Wish someone would make a decent probe 3" + with no wires. Try your small coil in allmetal, turned way up (11:00 oclock +) with the faintest tone--amazing what you can hear!
Good Luck

Inner tube is to hold your scoop but tie a loop in it at the end for a safety, no-one likes to spend time gridding for a dropped scoop. It's more stable for two or three digs if you dont cut your foam noodles into four, but only two, bent around the corner. The mesh is not cheap, you can get hardware mesh ffrom Depot but its in large rolls. Using one with no metal is a must for a pulse or any big coil, as you can't tell that you are de-tuning excepth when you notice that some targets can only be heard sweeping towards, not away from the scoop or other metal. This is a real work and time saver. Nothing like watching the sand melt away to reveal a massive ring!good Luck with the CZ--its a nice machine--a real workhorse.

Inner tube is for your scoop. Not that necessary inless you are using a pulse or large coil. Saves a lot of work and speeds you up too
