Good Day At The Farm! :minelab:

I took Austin fishing for a while then hit the old fairground site for a while. Turned out to be a good day! On the way to the hot spot I found the 1913 mound Buffalo nickel so I hunted a pattern around it and pulled a couple of wheats too. May be a few more around that area I have to check later on. Then in an area away from the main coin spot I found the fatty Indian. It's either an 1859 or a Flying Eagle can't tell yet but there is no shield on the reverse. SO I started hunting patterns in that area and did pretty good. I got the two centers back to back. The 65 is the best copper from this place so far. The fertilizer chews the coins up really bad as you can see by the other coins. Even the silver suffers! The first seated dime was the black 76 and it's a CC. It's in great shape if it just wasn't black. The other one is a 76P. Both of the dimes along with the two cent pieces were only a couple of inches deep and boy did they sound good on the WOT. Funny thing the deepest coin of the day was one of the wheats. It was a really iffy signal but bounced up and down the right side. Golddigger says when you get those kind of signals DIG and now I always do! Most of the time they are coin signals. The three discs I'm still trying to figure out what they are. They're about the size of silver dollars and read 14 on the digital. I found two and Austin eyeballed one on top of the ground! They COULD be counterfiet dollars but so far I haven't found any detail on them. They are not as thick as a silver dollar tho.

Wow, you DID have a good day. Nice stuff.

...and mine has a barely legible date on the edge of 1890 or 1893 with some stars around the edge. It looks like there may be a man on horseback in the center, but it's so corroded I can't tell. Popular thinking is that these are some type of dollar-sized tokens from the 1892 Fair...

You got some great coins there!

Mike

I think you are on to something. I think I can see a man's head on one and a horse head on two of them. Also I think I cans see a star on the outer edge. I wonder what peroxide would do to them?
