Good by V3i and hello Racer2

I have been involved off and on with metal detecting for over 20 years. My main machine has always been a whites unit.My first a whites 2500, then the Eagle II,next XLT, and more recently the V3i. These machines are dear to my heart but recently I purchased a Racer2 and now with the saleing of my V3i today I know longer use any of the Whites. They were and are very good machines but didn't seem to meet my needs of today.
The Makro Racer 2 is a light weight turn on and go machine with surgical separation and a quick response time. After hunting a hunted out site with my hunting buddy Sataro and getting whooped bad I decided to buy the Racer2 and give it a try. The simplicity of operation is great.
The V3i will probably do more things than my racer but with limited hunting time and the inability to want to study the machine I am very pleased with keeping the Racer 2.

I think we will both enjoy using them & learning their capabilities!

Can't wait to read your results and opinions. I've had my Racer 2 since Feb 2016, but I only have 2-3 years of detecting experience.

I love my racer 2 but admittedly, II haven't had as much time on it or my nokta fors relic as I have on my tesoros, but I do enjoy them thoroughly and and happy so far and only see myself getting happier as I use them more.
Here in Michigan we can't hunt year round and the racer 2 and nokta were picked up closer to the end of the season.
I look forward to hearing how it's working for you!!
Happy hunting!!!

I also had the V3i and sold it awhile after getting the Racer 2. I prefer the Racer just about everywhere except for hunting large areas looking for more recent drops of coins and Jewelry. For the large areas like soccer fields and large open park areas I like using the BigFoot coil so I've gone back to using it mounted on a DFX. You can get a DFX and BigFoot coil for less than just the V3i and nothing beats the combo when it comes to vacuuming up large quantities of coins. The Racer 2 is my go to detector for ghost towns and railroad sidings, Home sites, trashy park areas, and dry beach sand.
