GOOD BOTTLE HAUL THIS WEEKEND

This was all pulled out of the same place we have been at for about 2 months now. Everywhere we turn we find a new spot. We could dig here for years and never cover it all

Very nice! I too like to find old bottles. I use my detector to find the dumps, then just start digging. It would be nice to see a lateral view of those bottles cleaned up.

They had a show on pbs called: Civil War Treasures, but I can't remember if they had any old bottles.

I gave up metal detecting for about 8 years to go bottle digging in the old 1890's and earlier city dumps.
Best of all digging in the winter you didn't get cold unless you stopped.
My favorite bottles were the stoneware Ginger Beers and the colored medicines and mineral waters.

Keep on digging, you may also find coins, marbles, doll heads, glass doll eyes, pot lids, old shoes, bones......

Nice haul Kodiak!! Thanks for posting:detecting:
