Hello everyone. I just wanted to say "Hi" and introduce myself because I will be bugging you guys in the future. My name is Brian Martin, from Oklahoma, and I purchased a "Vision" about a year ago. Even has the "Vision" markings on it. I know it has been replaced only in name as the Spectra V3, and now the V3i, but its nice to have one before the big change happened. I have also recently sent it back to Whites and they did the upgrades and for free. They are a pretty great company. Just cost shipping. Pretty fair I thought. Anyway, I have used some cheaper mds in the past and started using a 5900 Di Pro. I really liked it. I decided I was going to be detecting for the rest of my life and figured I would buy a "really good" machine and bought the V3. I laughed a few times reading some of the posts because I was ready to wrap it around a tree! The the guy at the shop where I purchased it realized it hadn't received the upgrades. I get it back Friday. Just wanted you all to know who was buggin you. Be safe, Brian

Hi Brian, if you had a Vision and sent it in for update are you sure it was upgraded to a V3i. That should have cost $125. If they did the updates not upgrade you would have the equivalent of a V3 not a V31. I would upgrade to a V3i. Rob

If they did an upgrade you got
headphone upgrade and new ear pads
new pod and keypad
All new software
and the Vision had it's chip changed.

Your detector would have lost all the old programs and need to be re registered. It would have VISIONi on one side.
 
Thank you Magic and Rob. I checked on that very concern after reading some of the posts from you guys. Whites said it has been upgraded to the V3i, they did waive the fee. The actual cost was 225, but they didn't charge me. I had to pay the shipping. I am suppose to get it back Friday and I will check for sure. Thank you guys very much for the welcome. Brian
 
That is a great deal you received and not the norm. There must have been something else going on to so you did real well! Congrats on the deal and welcome Brian. I have the original badging and like too.
