Gonehunting's Combined Setting

grrrldoc

New member
Hi all,

I have been watching Gonehunting's videos on youtube, and have seen multiple references to "gonehunting's combined mode". I have searched but can't seem to find the program for it, someone said it was on one of his youtube videos but I couldn't find it. I did find one video that looked like it had his settings, but it is now marked "private"!

Can anyone help me out and post a file of his settings that I can upload via the Xchange2?

Thanks!

I read Gonehuntings page, and he has decided to make his settings more exclusive because people were capitalizing on his work. Someone can probably send you a copy of the file with the settings, and you can use Xchange 2 to add it to your CTX. The only thing special about the mode is that combined lets you assign different tones to different areas of the screen so you can know by ear what kind of target you are detecting.

Nothing particularly special about gonehunting's settings. It's a basic generic program which is available only to customers of his detector-dealer employer's web site. Really, the best programs are the ones that you design for yourself. If you need something to get you started however, you'll find some good ones right here at Findmall: http://www.findmall.com/read.php?87,1737486

Thanks, everyone - I found his website and have contacted him. I prefer going by ear anyway (initially) so it will be a good one for me to try!

Nothing really special just good solid setting that will find silver like a lot of others out there.

I think he modified the relic program and then saved it.

Use combined ferrous coin.
Wide open screen. I prefer to disk out fe 32/33/34/35

Ferrous line at 22
Then set your conductive bins to your taste. I break at 15-26-38
Some like to break the last one at 42 - 43 but if a coin is close to a trash target (nail) you may not get a good high tone on intinal sweep.
Set your tones to your liking.
I set iron tone to 77

Deep on fast off and auto plus 2 if memory servers me correctly are his settings. Don't quote me on that.

After using a V3i I find the CTX really easy to use.

I dont recall the settings exactly, but foreign object is close in his description.
It's a great program for sure. I hit a IH cent on edge at close to 12" with the 17" coil using Evan's settings. And it makes silver scream! No guessing if you're over silver once you've hit a few.

I personally used his settings as a base to start off of. Its a great generalized program that can be tailored to your specific grounds. That being said... I truly believe the CTX is sooooo smart, it's pretty hard to eff it up. Focus more on where to put the coil instead of settings and other particulars. Find old places that might have old things and then hit it really good from all directions. After that, start tweaking settings. You'll find 9/10 you didn't miss much and if you did, it's because you didn't put the coil over it (or at the right angle)

Dang you would think we are talking about math formulas that send people to mars.

Get a grip guys.
