Just got my CXT today set up your program and went out back in the yard with it. Seems to be giving the iron grunt almost all the time. It was picking some targets out though is this normal for it to sound off the whole time I am swinging it with this program. Did a manual ground balance and it helped some dont think there is that much iron just seems it is respoding to the ground. Thanks

Jason

Yes, that is completely normal. You want to hear everything. The low grunts are iron targets, so don't worry about them, and just listen for high repeatable targets and dig them. You'll be surprised at how well it works.

Ronfin is right.. with the screen wide open you (just my preference) will hear everything under the coil at the time... Now Randy has a combined setting that adds discrim to the screen. Albert(Earthmansurfer) has one for ground coin.. What you will need to figure out is what mode is best for where you hunting.. It may be something we haven't used or a variation of it.. The CTX is versatile enough to fit most needs.. Good luck..

You will be surprised on how much iron is really in the ground when you run his settings. Really helps me on to dig a target or not.

I agree as well. We should all at least just try Combine to get a feel for what is in the ground. That way if you run e.g. 50 CO it gives you perspective on that nulling and perhaps how fast to swing...

But Evan, I don't run ground coin, I run ferrous coin. :veryangry: You trying to bring more mineralization into my life? eheh
