I have been out with my C$ and some times I come across a good solid signal from all directions,

Once I have dug a little I cannot find the signal again ?

Any help or advice on this one would be great for some one who has five min's to spare !

Thanks in advance

Quite often when this occurs it is the result of the ground matrix being disturbed when digging. Usually digging another few inches of dirt will reveal the target. Or, breaking the clod apart will often reveal the target, if it is in the clod. HH jim tn

The rusted trash item is a very good point and targets can disappear when dug and disc. hence, silences it. HH jim tn

Thanks for all your input gentlemen,
I think it's the rusted item that has had me fooled, I have always checked my boots and digger, I was wondering if some one could explain how a piece of foil falling down the hole would affect it ?

capable of detection on or near the surface, in the hole, especially if its deep, that field is not strong enough
to be picked up by your loop. Always carry a pocket pin pointer.:detecting::fisher:

Thanks Vlad for taking the time to explain this for me,
I just bought myself a pin pointer ( Bulls eye ) as I am sick of trying to find them small bits of metal that are so small and get lost in the soil.
Regards Clinton. :beers:
