Gone fish'in...

After dropping Sarah off at work this morning we went to Cove Lake State Park to drown a few worms. Brian still isn't walking with the stiff cast so MD'ing is out for awhile.

It was a beautiful morning and we managed to catch a bluegill and a couple of crappie. I got one small crappie. Now Brian is hooked and wants me to stay out of work tomorrow and go fishing!! LOL

Boy...I wish I could!

Here he is with the first catch of the day.

We threw thwm back, but the last one would have fried up good in the pan!!

It was an awesome day.

Congrats you guys. I love fishing too..just haven't done it in many years. Hooked on fishin' - I think there is a pun there

Neat pics and outing. I specialized in crappie for many, many years until detecting took hold of me. Haven't been fishing in about 10 years now. Glad Brian's getting around ok, steve in so az

Doug - Here's one of the crappie from my last summer fishing. I had a 17 ft boat with 125 motor, sold it to my sister. Detecting's got me bad :) Steve

Looks like some time well spent together! :)

...did you fry it up?

...crappie is good eating. Many, many moons ago we would night fish for them under lights and come home with about 40 keepers out of hundred or so caught. They aren't that plentiful now and there is a limit of 30 I believe. Brian had a blast so more future trips are planned. He wants to catch a keeper and bring it home to eat.

We have done the same thing - sit on a lighted dock or in a boat all night and catch them, no limit yet. 2 pound crappie here are not all that unusual, good fish factory at the lake, steve
