Golf Course

I'm new here as far as posting goes but been a lurker for years. I finally took the plunge. I have a question regarding my at pro. I have the privelige to hunt a now closed golf course here in Florida that dates to the 20's Although I've found a good share of clad and some silver I have only managed 2 nickles. As you can imaging this place is loaded with the old beaver type pull tabs. If it was'nt for them I would think I died and went to heaven. I search in pro mode but I cant seem to tell the difference between nickles and tabs. I'm hoping some of you can shed some light on some tricks of the trade that might help me recover some nickels. The ratio im guessing is 2000 pulltabs to 1 nickel. Thanks in advance djbr

that never reopened after Hurrican Carla back in '61 or '62. Just trying to find the land owner and see what he/she says. Good luck and keep us posted on your finds. John

All the nickles I've hit so far have set right on 51-52 and didn't budge. The tabs seem to jump from the high 40's to the lower 60's and I get a high tone on the backside of my swing. I dig 'em anyway, one might be a gold ring!! Nickles are good, one of my favorite coins to find, but gold is better!!

The difference between the pull tabs......solid 53 for the new ones..........51-54 scratchy for the older ones. Nickles fall in the scratchy 53 zone.
