I never seem to hear anything about the Goldmaxx detector can anyone that has ever owned one share there thoughts on it?

Hi JLW,the goldmax was designed to find really small targets such as hammered and roman coins in high trash areas in europe. Some of the ancient sites we have over here are so badly littered with small iron nails etc only machines with extemely fast recovery speeds and high sensitivity have a chance of doing any good. The goldmax power has a very wide band of iron rejection so that you can set the machine up very accurately for the size of iron pieces that an operator is experiencing on a certain field without comprimising sensitivity to very small low conductivity coins.I've pulled some tiny hammered coins out of really badly contaminated areas with the goldmax which a lot of detectors would have more than likely missed. For this type of hunting, the goldmax can't really be beaten, although the T2,the F75,the new xp DEUS and the Tesoro Tejon are all machines with the sort of performance you need for this type of searching and all will get the job done. The only downsides to the machine are that it will not do any good on the wet sand at the beach and it is not the deepest machine on pasture......so it is not really the best allrounder on the market. For searching high trash areas though,it's one of the best you can get.

If JLW is in the U.S. he will be better off with the T2 or F75. As there's so many areas where the XP's don't cope with the mineralisation there's better choices plus the Power and the later wireless modified Mk 1 Goldmaxx are illegal in the States. Add to that the repair situation ie he would need to return the detector to Europe and they are not the best bet.

If your in the U.K. JLW I've got both models and you could come and try them against each other.
