Hey Guys and Gals!
I have one of these on the way- Can anyone tell me how it might perform on the beach- Is it a good jewelry hunter too. Can't find much at all on the web and no replies from previous posts. Thanks!

Hey Jim,
Check out Steve Herschbach's comparison of the GMT and MXT. RD

Excellent report that says it all.
Good hunting,
Otto...

Jim, the GMT is too sensitive for use in wet salt sand, but will do well enough on the dry.

Actually, although not promoted as a beach hunter, you can properly tune it to REDUCE the effects of Wet Salt, the only drawback.
* Use Ground Tracking
* Cut down your Sensitivity Control to Minimum
* Try not to use the 'Salt' Mode so you don't lose micro jewelry
Hunt Away!!!
