Goldmaster 2 and me.

Hello,
I have a goldmaster 2 thats seems to sensitive, tried ground balancing until I get the same sounds pumping up then down .

Keep getting mystery signals every 2 or 3 sweeps, dig it out grap a hand full of dirt wave it under the coil Yep its in the hand , keep checking as I drop the dirt slow, only a tiny bit left now good signal bererrr ~ beererr ,
Then none left but a dirty hand But still getting the signal ?

After doing this a few times I start to high sweep 6 inches so I can walk a bit before the next Beereerr ~ oobrrer .

Well in the end I walk away frustrated .
What am I going wrong ?

Help Bob.

Its not the Smell, Its not the Taste, Its not the Look, so Hear me...

Its the frequency.... @ 50 kHz what your hearing at high gain levels is the Salt in your hand, so please do me a favor.

CUT BACK on the Dominos Pizza... its delicious but adds salt to your system Bob. High Frequency Detectors like the GMT, Fisher Gold Bug II and Eureka Gold @ 60 kHz will react to salt.

Turn down the Gain, use a PRG Scoop, Nugget Cup when you wave the dirt over the top or bottom of the loop.

See, that DIRTY HAND NOISE will Disappear..... SO EASY a CAVEMAN Can do it!!!!

and if it is tight, you might want to check the coil to see if it is defective. Kelley (Texas) :)

it's the affect of the capacitance of your hand, on perhaps a not so good sheilded coil.

If you doubt this, sprinkel a tinny bit of salt on a clean spot, see if you can detect it. If you can't detect raw salt, you certainly are not going to detect it in your skin.

Your statement is like a old wise tail that get's told over, and over again untill it turns into the truth. :nopity:

To Bobbylikesgold poster, try lowering down your sensitivity, and be real sure you have a good ground balance.

Freddie

Thanks Kelly, Greg ,Freddie.

Looks like I had set every thing in the wrong sequence, guess you know what its like to be in a hurry . :sadwalk:

Have Fun I do.
Bob.

Waving my hand across the coil is one of the tests I do. I carry a chip with a picker. Place it in the ground where I'm hunting and test the detector with it. Check for a signal and depth. I also always use headphones with a gold machine. My next outing with a goldmaster I'm trying my new sunray gold pro headphones.
