Doesnt anyone use the Golden Umax? I bought 1 and havnt had the chance to get out yet. I sure would like to hear from people that do use it.

No i didnt. But that doesnt bother me. if it rings a good tone i dig.

great detector
learn its lingo & it will reward you :super:
golden umax is fun fun fun

Have used every notch unit Tesoro ever made I felt just to many tones and too many notches that ran into each other. I understand Tesoro reacting to the consumer has now changed to alleviate the situation just related to and feel the new golden may be a much better unit because of this but never used the new version...Personally think the the old Pantera was the cream of the crop relative notch Tesoro's but only my opinion...

Hello Jack, And your thoughts on the tones? Easy to distinguish the 4 separate tones. Thanks Jay

Some people are having a hard time distinguishing between the two middle tones on the Golden uMax detectors that have not had the tone change.

Zinc pennies, most pull tabs and screw caps beep on one of those middle tones.

I use the notch feature on the Golden that notches out zinc pennies, most pull tabs and screw caps, so I never hear one of those middle tones to get confused.

Found this ear ring this morning in a volleyball court. 14K. 63 diamonds. Supposed to be 64 but one is missing. I have a diamond tester. They are diamonds...Found with my Golden.....Jack

Yes,\. Tones very well seperated. 2nd Golden. The first one I had a hard time telling the middle tones. Love the new tones....Jack

I have owned an F4. Not a bad machine. Almost traded for a Deleon. I am sure it is a good machine. Just not my cup of tea....Jack

:clapping: well done
gotta love the golden :detecting:

i take it the tones are a little more seperated than the older version? when i had mine i found it to be one of the truest tone machine out there really liked mine but i thought it lagged in depth and experimented with different coils and found the 8" donut worked best for me

I used to use a GOLDEN UmAX as my main 'cruiser' unit.
I found the tones to be no real problem, but you hadda study them a bit. Familiarity was the key to deciphering the middle tones.

AS for its abilities, its a uMax Tesoro. That is enough for most things. The tones only add to the goodness
